The future of Shreveport depends not only on the businesses we build today, but on the young people we prepare to lead tomorrow. At ABS Consulting Services, we believe that creating opportunities for our youth is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in our community.

In 2026, ABS established a partnership with Shreveport Job Corps through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), creating a pathway for students to gain valuable, real-world business experience. Through this initiative, we've already helped connect Job Corps students with local establishments, including Papion’s Creole Bistreaux and Cat Daddy’s Soul Food, giving young workers opportunities to experience professional environments, develop workplace skills, and better understand the expectations of today's workforce.

Connecting Local Talent with Local Opportunity

Our work extends beyond simply connecting students with employers. ABS helps bridge the gap between workforce training and local entrepreneurship by building relationships with business owners who understand the importance of investing in the next generation. These partnerships provide opportunities for students to gain professional exposure while allowing local businesses to play an active role in developing Shreveport's future workforce. With successful connections already established, our vision is to expand these opportunities across additional industries and businesses throughout the community.

Planting the Seeds of Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs

Looking ahead, ABS is developing youth mentorship initiatives and summer programs designed to connect young people with established entrepreneurs, business leaders, and working professionals. These programs will focus on career readiness, professional development, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and hands-on business experiences that prepare participants for life beyond the classroom.

Our goal is not simply to help young people find employment. We want to inspire them to recognize the opportunities available in their own city, encourage them to establish careers here, and empower those with entrepreneurial ambitions to eventually launch businesses of their own. We envision a Shreveport where talented young people don't feel they must leave home to find opportunity, but instead see themselves as part of building its future.
